Gratitude Journals

This week we have been kindly given by our lovely teacher gratitude journals which means every day we write in it what were thankful about but I think it's helping me be more happyyy mine says I go bananas for the weekend

The Sun

Pumanawa

Every Monday we have been doing pumanawa I'm doing yoga. There were things you could choose but you had to get chosen for it I got chosen for yoga which was my third choice out of 3. I chose for my first thing cartooning my 2nd kitchen science but didn't make it sadly. But yoga is fun we learnt the down dog, headstands, elbow stand etc.

Indian Ocean

In-room 5 we have been making our own poster on a certain ocean. the Indian ocean, the arctic ocean, the southern ocean, the Atlantic and the pacific ocean. I did the Indian ocean and I learned a lot about it.

Instructions To Make My Cake

CAKE RECIPE

Ingredients:

5 bananas
2 bags of snake lollies
Black icing
Goat cheese ice cream
2.0 litre of coke
Pig nose
100 yr egg
50 marshmallows
1 bowl of spaghetti


Step 1: mash bananas then put on a big plate

Step 2: After that put black icing on banana

Step 3: then put your ice cream on top of the icing

Step 4: then put ur spaghetti on the ice cream (decoration)

Step 5: Put ur marshmallows on the sides of the cake (eat the spares)

Step 6: after that dump the snake lollies or decorate on the cake

Step 7: then Put the 100-year-old egg on the top like a cherry

Step 8: then Put the pig nose on the side

Happy Ascension

Last week we made a happy ascension card about Jesus ascending and we wrote this in, may the feast of the ascension fill you with hope. Jesus has promised to prepare a place for you in his father's house.

Holy Spirit Tetrahedrons

During R.E we made Tetrahedrons (3d triangle). When we made them we put names of the holy spirit like love, hope, faith, etc and this term we are learning more about the holy spirit.

Country Study

Ice Experiment

Today we tried to do an experiment on ice to see what happens when you put the dye on it. We put the dye on it then we poured salt and then we went outside. We chucked the ice high and they all smashed on the concrete and splattered all over the place.

Peter Gossage Art

During this week for art, we finished our Peter Gossage art. We used dye for the background and pastel for the actual drawing. I drew the sun with mountains in the background and others did the moon, Maui or just mountains with Māori patterns. This is my drawing...

During this week and last week we have been learning how to write a good poem. Week 2 Room 5

This week is the first of many's in room 5. this week we have been real chill and getting to know each other. My teacher this year is Mrs Drummond. She has been showing us many sites about reading maths and more reading. During this week we have been making stuff like the puzzle for our class we all did one to show that we are a piece of the puzzle and here's mine... 

The first week has been fun. I wonder what is going to happen this year and I am excited to face the challenges this year.

Camp 2019

In week 1 all of the year sixes went to camp for a week. It was really fun. We did loads of fun activities like stack em (I'm doing it in the photo), rock climbing, abseiling, orienteering, giant ladder, mountain, biking, sailing, raft building, dinghy games, snorkelling, kayaking and giant paddle boarding. My favourite on land was giant ladder and my favourite in the sea was giant paddle boarding because we got to push people off the paddle board🙌. 

We had really great food my favourite was burgers (mmmm). We stayed from Monday to Friday. We stayed in cabins and we had the boys in one room and the girls in the other. We slept in bunk beds - me and Riley slept next to each other cause we had a area with two bunks. I think that the parents were the real saviours and we couldn't of done it without them cause they made breakfast, lunch and dinner and they cheered us on. Camp was really fun and I was so grateful to have the opportunity to go and wish I had another chance to go to camp.
